Tennille Dix
Tennille Dix is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative evolution spans continents and decades. Raised in Quiogue, a quiet hamlet on the eastern shores of Long Island, she grew up in a home steeped in art and design. The influence of her artistic lineage set the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of visual expression.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, she garnered international recognition for her distinctive decorative objects and interior works, which were featured in design magazines and carried by renowned institutions including Asprey’s, Harrods, Fortnum & Mason, and Neiman Marcus. Her pieces found collectors in Princess Margaret, Princess Diana, and Sir Elton John—testament to a sensibility that balanced elegance with originality.

Today, Dix devotes her practice to abstract painting, working intuitively with acrylics and mixed media. Her compositions emerge from a deeply lived global experience: she has resided in nine countries across five continents. From the glowing horizons of Australia to the kinetic density of Hong Kong, from the vast white silence of Canada to the coastal light of Long Island, her paintings are shaped by geography, memory, and the natural world.

For Dix, abstraction is a form of inquiry—into movement, color, impermanence, and the emotional resonance of space. Her work does not document place so much as evoke its spirit. “Abstract art is a journey,” she says. “And that journey is the best part of the experience.”
