Roberto Salazar / Artist Bio

Roberto Salazar is an artist working with the photographic and the post-photographic image.

His work explores the implications of social networks algorithmic opinion nudging. The asymmetrical power relations between big tech and its users. And the dilution of signifiers as creators of social contracts and meaning.

Interested in the practical impossibility of knowledge in today's digital zeitgeist. The invisible algorithmic war our cognition and affection is subjected to in social networks and its inherent aesthetics and practices.

Salazar's Salt Saliva Metal series, featured in the gallery, is about the longing for embodied physicality. Challenging the screen as simulacra of togetherness.
